Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 1, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how NestShot ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the NestShot mobile application and related services (the "Service"). We are committed to keeping your data safe and being transparent about what we collect and why.

1. Information We Collect

Account data

NestShot creates an anonymous user identifier for you automatically when you first open the app. No email address, phone number, or password is required. You may optionally provide a display name, which we store alongside your account record.

Photos and content you upload

When you use AI processing features (Clean Photo, Empty Photo, Restage), the photo you select is uploaded to our servers for processing. Processed versions are stored so you can access your project gallery later. You can delete any image or project from within the app at any time.

Watermark assets

If you configure watermarks, any text or logo image you provide is stored securely on our servers and applied to your processed photos.

Usage and technical data

We may collect anonymised usage information such as which features are used, error logs, and performance metrics. This data is used solely to improve the Service and does not identify you personally.

Location data

With your permission, NestShot may access your approximate location to auto-fill the project name with your current street address. We do not store or transmit location data to our servers; it is used only locally on your device for this convenience feature.

Device permissions

The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you select or take photos. We do not access, scan, or upload any photos or media other than those you explicitly choose to process.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Process your photos using AI models and return the results to you.
  • Manage your account, credits, and subscription.
  • Respond to support enquiries and customer service requests.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your photos or personal information to train AI models, build advertising profiles, or sell data to third parties.

3. Third-party Services

To provide the Service, we work with the following third-party providers. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it handles on our behalf.

  • Vercel — Hosts the NestShot API and web infrastructure. Processed images are stored in Vercel Blob storage.
  • Replicate— Provides the AI model infrastructure used to process your photos. Photos are sent to Replicate's API for inference and are subject to their data handling terms.
  • RevenueCat — Manages in-app subscriptions and purchase validation. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user identifier and transaction data from the app stores.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — Handle all payment processing for in-app purchases and subscriptions. We never receive or store your payment card details.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL) — Stores account records, project metadata, and credit balances in a secure cloud database.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your account data and project gallery are stored for as long as your account is active. Photos you have deleted are removed from our storage systems. If your account becomes inactive for an extended period, we may delete your data after reasonable advance notice.

Data is stored on servers located primarily in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed there.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, access controls for our databases and storage systems, and private (non-public) blob storage for your photos. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal data, including:

  • Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Portability — Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — Object to certain types of processing where applicable under law.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@nestshot.com. You can also delete your photos and projects directly from within the app at any time.

8. Device Permissions Summary

NestShot requests the following permissions and uses them only for the stated purposes:

  • Camera — To take new photos for processing.
  • Photo Library (read) — To select existing photos from your device for processing.
  • Photo Library (write) — To save processed images to your gallery when using the Save All or Auto-save feature.
  • Location (when in use) — To auto-fill your project name with the current street address. Entirely optional; denying it does not affect any other feature.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@nestshot.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
